what does it look like in outline mode? Control or Command-Y
Outline mode looks as if they were segments, it doesn’t show the closed nature of those 2-point paths. (the triangle was where I added the 3rd point and pulled.)
You might find that the trick that deletes the line between nodes would also leave you with a single line, and could possibly be done for all the closed double line bits in a single command as other than deleting everything Inkscape can not do anything else
Nope. This action will delete the entire shape in Inkscape. Inkscape will delete both sides of the path and then delete the abandoned nodes too.
