Hallo Elton! You remind me of one of those finger choosing games we used to play endlessly as children.

Oh hey, yeah he kind of does look like one!

There you go, your next GF project, make a wooden finger chooser

Had to look up a clip for those who are wondering what we’re talking about. Also feeling nostalgic…

Delighted, Elton!
Do you clean those edges, or does that stuff cut that nice?

Baltic birch edges, no cleaning.

That’s a true ply right? No MDF? where do you source it, if you don’t mind?

It’s just 3mm baltic birch ply, get it just about anywhere? This was from rugby architectural building supply, they have a lot of locations. I buy 5x5’ sheets and cut it down, it’s really cheap.

The key with getting nice honey colored edges is to not overburn it. Do a material test and go as hot and fast as you can, the slower you go the darker the edges get.

If it matters this is on a pro.

Hah, this is one of those pieces that looks complex but is actually fairly simple. It’s only three different parts:

32 identical triangular faces
48 V-shaped connectors
24 X-shaped connectors

Just goes to show you can get some interesting complexity out of relatively simple building blocks.
