Some Popeye cut paper art that I made as a birthday present for my wife a few months ago

She is a fan of the sailor man…

8"x10", 10 layers of colored card stock.

Sorry about the not so great picture…

Nice job! Is that pieced? :grinning:

By pieced you mean?

Oh sorry…we (digital cutter users) call it a paper piecing if you cut the various colors out of separate sheets and piece them together into a picture.

This is an older paper piecing example:

I planned it in whole layers, no glue was used, each layer reveals the ones underneath and they’re all 8x10

So layered rather than pieced…that actually makes a lot of sense when you’re working with a laser. :sunglasses::+1:

Some of it was a bit of a pain planning it out…

Wow. I suspect that looks a lot simpler than it is.

That alone is another piece of art along with the actual product. Great job.

Very cool! I hope there is a way to preserve this piece so the humidity and sunlight don’t attack it. Maybe behind UV filtering glass.

What a great looking piece. I now have another procedure to learn.

Hopefully it’ll keep for a long time, it’s not in direct sunlight and I only used acid-free cardstock.

Popeye was a favorite at our house when we were kids. Really nice piece!
