“Over 17lbs. of assorted thin stock lumber to include oak , maple, canary wood , walnut, oak, maple, cherry, walnut, mahogany 1/16 to 1/2 thick.” Tempting but I’m full up.
sorry, too much risk of getting too much 1/2" for me. someone else will have to save you.
I know the temptation, I found this black walnut cut off in a scrap pile. An inch thick and about 16 inches long about 10 years ago that is still waiting for me to decide the best use of that glorious woodgrain.
Conventional cut with a saw then laser the pieces :). Half inch wood makes impressive coasters, cheese boards etc. No risk —creativity loves constraints.
The pics also showed plenty of thin stuff.
my traditional woodworking equipment is minimal, unfortunately.
“If you take the trouble to think about a problem long enough, it goes away on its own.” - Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Nice but a generic collection so no telling. I have purchased 3 of those that were supposed to be up to 8 inches wide but only one was over three by a bit.
As for the 1/2 inch wood, it will still fit in the glowforge and a deep 3d engrave can look really nice. I engrave down from the top and a rabbit from the bottom to make great lids for boxes.
A different collection at half the cost (value too?)

Somebody got it.
No it was pulled because the listing expired. He relisted it. My brother has lots of woodworking equipment, so if I need it split, he can do that. I bid just in case but I won’t spend the wad on it.
That’s my wife’s philosophy. Mine is “98% of what you worry about doesn’t happen, so don’t bother worrying”. They’re quite similar except the latter teaches us not to over think/worry about things whereas the former encourages the agita.
Of course, the real quote, in the context of the story, is more entertaining.
“A second later and they would have been dead.”
“Yeah, so if you’d taken the trouble to think about the problem a bit longer it would have gone away.”
Not that one, but I just got one a few weeks ago. It’s a great deal, but definitely more 1/4" and 5/8" than 1/8". Lots of walnut and cedar and then a bunch of lighter woods I can’t identify on site (different grain patterns so probably maple & oak)
Same seller?
Not 100% sure, but certainly similar MO! It was sent to me as a gift so I don’t have an order to look at.
there are a bunch of sellers who sell those cut off boxes. i’ve gotten them from a few places. woodchucks, green valley, ocooch.
I see some definite red oak, but also possibly hickory and poplar and the whiter is likely basswood but that is best guess from the photo. A fluorescent light will out any yellow heart hiding there, bit several of the lighter woods can be seen as different in UV.
Man, I was just up at Lynchburg. Could have looked at it.
