I just cut this one in Proofgrade Maple! It’s practically perfect. Even the second engrave in the eyes didn’t burn through using the dark and light default engraves. The light “shoe print” engrave at the top was originally a vector. It filled when I converted it to an engrave (as opposed to the default cut). I’m sure I’ll cut this again. I think I"ll clean up the eyes to match more what you had on the original at the top of the page.
