Star Trek wall sconce covers for home theater

First post. Made these out of walnut hardwood laminate from Home Depot online.
1/8” thick. Had to remove a lot of wood to get an adequate bend. All the small holes are the same Star Trek logo as the large offset piece.
They are just tied on sconce with elastics right now while I figure out a better way to mount them.

Beautifully done!

Since kerf cuts work by using the spaces to allow bend, I imagine you might get more with fewer stars if the heads were next to the tails, rather than heads next to heads and tails next to tails…

That being said - I love how the pattern looks like it’s just a random pattern until you get really close - which you might lose if it were more regular

Thanks. It was a first effort at the bending. I think a thinner wood also would be better. I’m definitely at the limit for flexing these things. :joy:

Something that is static works well, but if it is going to be constantly bent anew, they always eventually fail.
Your mileage may vary…
