Suggestions for adding these borders?

Hi!!
Hope you are all surviving the apocalypse. I have a customer asking about making 30 signs like this and I’m not sure how to go about getting this black border.

I did something similar in the past and I used aluminum and paint it, but it was expensive and time consuming. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Oh, and it needs to be weather resistant.

Thanks!!!

Not my design, but this would work. Shellac would help with weatherproofing.

That looks like a black frame, to me…?

Butt-joined acrylic, bonded with weld-on, with face and frame corners fillet-joined with high-temp hot glue or Eclectic/Goop.

That’s exactly what I thought of! You could do it in black acrylic if the wood look isn’t what they’re going for.

If speed is important, just go find an off the shelf cheap frame and design your sign to fit it.

Frames are simple and very easy to source for less than the amount of time and materials you’d be spending on it. Ikea, michaels, etc etc. Even walmart:

Six frames for under $9. You can’t touch that.

Can’t argue with that. I was going to say “even Amazon” but I don’t think you could find 6 for $8 there…
