Suggestions Needed!

1 5/8"

Oops… brain fart. Nothing to see here…

Wait, without the crumb tray 1 5/8" is ok?? What am I missing?

Brain fart, sorry… fixed it.

So I happen to have a gavel. Took the tray out. Put a piece of paper on the gavel. Used the set focus tool. Took me a few tries to get the beam to fall on the paper. Typed Name in Word and saved as a pdf. Dragged Name onto gavel. Print. 40 secondsScreen Shot 2019-12-19 at 5.10.29 PM

You can do this!

@eflyguy @dklgood you’re making me nervous! LOL

I’m going for it. Hang tight!

So should I adjust the pre-set basswood settings to begin with?

I would test with paper on the gavel until you are sure of the placement. When you are satisfied with where your engrave is landing, go with a very light power on the wood so that you can sand off if necessary. When you are done testing you can engrave with a higher power and do a second pass if it doesn’t seem deep enough. Just don’t move the gavel once you start.

Meant to upload this shortly after I finished it and I forgot. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I made it through and it turned out great. I ended up doing both sides. This is darker than the other side and I did 3 passes for both. I was happy to be able to do this for my friends. :+1: :+1:
