The GlowForge Quick (magnetic) Vent Disconnect Project

I had leftover parts from my attempt to re-design the venting of the GF, and decided to build a magnetically attached quick disconnect, Here are the parts:
$13 dryer vent This was going to be my ‘clean out catch’ for when I did the spray and high fan mode cleaning (since Im not going to bring GF outside, or stick pipe out window) But Ultimately is was unneeded…

And this which LOOKED like it would fit the exhaust port of the GF, but IT DIDN’T.

I should have made this an instructable…

[Editors note: the white is the back of the GF, the black is my flat vent]

Nah, but you’re the craziest  I believe in you!

It’s a project that people keep coming to because it’s cool and pretty useful depending on your vent setup. Your approach is interesting, that’s a lot of magnet. I bet it grabs pretty hard.

yea, and it has a lip so it centers and locks in, i haven’t done a ‘smoke test’ yet with it, I epoxied it all together (sheet tin plate / rubber inside) so waiting for all that to dry and set
