The mandatory escutcheon

My first escutcheon, and first inlay. I think I’ll go larger on my next one and include a mount for my firewatch camera, but I’m pretty happy with this modest first attempt.

With the optional edge-lit acrylic:

Mesmerizing.

What does the inscription mean?

If we knew that^^ it would carry a bit more significance (it’s awesome anyway). I don’t read Latin, and yeah, I’m lazy.

“Modest!?!” I think not. A really outstanding and lovely escutcheon in my opinion.

Nice escutcheon. However, an escutcheon for the glowforge is more obligatory than mandatory.

I think it should be mandatory. One of the first three prints that people need to do. This is one of the top escutcheons. Great post.

I have still not made one. I have a few ideas but none seem epic enough… Actually none of them seem any good at all

I want to make something that will actually fit in with the name of my 'forge. Gordon Gould.
