For a while I have been working on this device that’s kind of like a Photo Booth but processes the live video picture in 75 different ways. This is the second version of the console. Naturally it was made on my Glowforge. Pictures can be printed on an attached dye sublimation printer, emailed or or saved to a a USB drive. There is currently a publicly available version at Blue Sky Gallery in Portland. The console uses an Arduino Giga and Giga display which sends its data to a Mac Mini running Processing.
This is so interesting. When you say a dye sublimation printer, I assume you mean a photo printer. Which one are you using? (I have a Kodak Mini 3 Retro that’s dye sub) What inspired you to make this? What are some of the way it processes the image?
This is really cool. Don’t be a stranger, if you’re making stuff like this I’d definitely like to see more of what you’re up to!
Thanks for looking. I started using a Canon Selphy printer, which worked well. I am now using a DNP QW410. It uses roll paper and has the option of making larger prints. Here’s a link to a YouTube Video I made a while ago about the machine. The Console is the first version, but still made on a Glowforge.
Thanks!
I watched the video… it’s really cool. I’ll definitely check it out if I ever make it to Portland.
I love the slogan, “Give it a try and hope for the best.”
super cool! love this project!
Very interesting! Thanks for posting this!
