Time is the new dimension

In printing. Can see this going down very well with both artists and engineers.

Well, they show it printing.
Then the ‘4D’ bit is CGI, which leads me to believe that it’s not working yet.

I’m always a bit wary of the description of something as “4D” but nonetheless that’s a darn cool out-of-the-box sort of project. I’d love to see more examples of it running. :slightly_smiling: If nothing else, it’s a gorgeous design!

It reminds me a bit of Allison Kudla’s Capacity For (Urban Eden, Human Error). Her work beautifully, and somewhat playfully, hits on the idea of “4D” in that her prints quite literally grow! I was fortunate enough to see it on display at Common Area Maintenance here in Seattle last fall – it was awesome to drop by from time to time to see it change.

You should take a look at what the MIT Self-Assembly Lab is doing. They have some crazy stuff. http://www.selfassemblylab.net/
