Are those two totally different cuts or are those the same cuts at different stages?

Same chunk of material.
I solvent welded the 3 layers of acrylic together.
Cut the circle from that in one chunk.
Then kept running engrave passes with a gradient and eventually the “donut hole” popped loose as a result of engraving operations going deeper and deeper.

So pretty with the layers. When I was in art school in the mid '80s chunky layered acrylic jewelry was in all the art fairs.
