Trivet - Bear Mountain

On the last trivet I did, several people commented on the bear in the center. This time I decided to try and make the whole trivet around bears. (My wife REALLY likes bears!) I have received many comments from friends on this one so I thought I would share. This trivet was made out of 1/4" Walnut with a 1/4" Baltic Birch back and then oiled with food grade mineral oil. I put the back on it so the heat from the pan could not transfer down through the holes to burn the table. You will notice on the top of the back outline there are two dots. I use those as an index to place the top part on so everything matches up perfectly.

Very cool looking trivet.

I’ve had trouble cutting 1/4 inch walnut lately, what settings did you use?

Thanks
