update: I made a trivet inspired by that link I found. glued it to felt backing with 1/16-1/8" gaps between wood pieces for flexibility. It turned out pretty cool! Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of my project before it was awarded to the first place chili in our church’s chili cook-off. and unfortunately, I wasn’t the winner haha! Here’s the geometric pattern I made. I will definitely be making more geometric patterns as it was extremely fun, and eye crossing to make.
