Here is a contraption used as a demonstration of nonlinear dynamics. But hey, it’s just a TOY.
A ½ inch diameter ball rolls in a tumbler changing its center of mass so successive tumbles result. The angle of the tumble ladder is adjustable resulting in a variation of the tumble rate. The dragon figurehead was made removable to allow for change in design; e.g. dog, flower, bird.

I wondered about using BBs instead of the single ball, but have none. Glass marble worked fine.
