Upgrades for 3d printer

I have an Anet A8 3d printer and the motherboard finally died a few months back, so I decided to upgrade and make a housing for the new motherboard. It is a MKS Gen L v1.0. It is going to have Trinamic 2230 stepper drivers, which make the printer a lot quieter, but runs hot so I added a good size cooling fan. I haven’t decided whether I want close up the ends yet and I still need to make a case for the control display.

The body is 5mm acrylic and the ends are 3d printed PLA. I love using both additive and subtractive manufacturing in my projects.

Great use of both laser cut acrylic and 3D printed PLA. Looks really clean.

I kinda expected to see bees coming out of it when I first saw it. I really like acrylic projects anyway. :grinning:

Ha! I just realized I messed up the name of the stepper driver. I’ve been messing with Trinamic 2208s and 2130s, so I guess I decided to combine them.
