Hello My yearly subscription ended I really don’t want to renew I hardly used. When it first ended I was able to edit files still. Now it wont let me add font or images. I tried inkscape because its free I don’t really know how to use it. I edited a file I bought off Etsy SVG saved it and uploaded it to glowforge it did not upload the changes. The changes show on the document when I open it. I asked Chatgpt it said to make sure I save as a plain SVG and no layers or locks. I didn’t know where to check for locks but if the changes are showing after saving and I open the file in my documents folder shouldn’t it save what am I doing wrong???

I tried to upload and save a smaller file because I did see it only allows a 100 km or smaller or else you need the pro. It still did not save the edit text I did on inscape. But it did show this message below but when I clicked learn more it said error. Figures I might just buy the renewal 
. The bunny with out text is the one I tried to edit all others are original from etsy file.

Within Inkscape, you will need to select each ‘text’ item and then select Path –> Object to Path. After that, save the file and reimport and that message should disappear.
I do not have a subscription to Glowforge and do everything exclusively in Inkscape for all my designs.

It worked!!! Thank you so much! I’m surprised glowforge let me move the font over with all my restrictions. I’m not familiar with inkscape I will need to youtube basics. I really only need to learn editing text from files I purchase. If you have a suggestions on youtube videos that would be great. I had a hard time adding that text.

I’m sure there’s several, but when I first started with Inkscape, I watched “Logos by Nick”. I like the way he explained things. I think he has a beginners youtube video. It’s a great program.
