My take on Victorian Dust Corners is now in the catalog!
Typically these were made of very thin metal so you could bend them with your hands, but we have lasers and fire!

Cool, never heard of these.
I take it these are made of acrylic, did you heat the acrylic to make it slumped to the corner or did you just strain it so that as you nailed it and it just kind of bends it?
Or did you do both? Did you nail in place to strain it and then use a little bit heat to sort of anneal it in place?
How thick was the material?
Bent with a torch lighter, I even included a bending frame in the design to get you where you need to be
This is 1/8" clear acrylic, though it can be done in any colour - technically with any design too, but this one is traditional
Looks great.
…and now a rabbit hole opens before me…
Nice engraving on these.
I saw these in the catolog. Never heard of them. So cool!!
So that’s what you call those!
What a cool thing! I’ve never heard of them or seen them. What a fun solution to a really annoying problem.
Does this mean the dust now collects in the middle of the steps?
And just like that I learned something today. Thank you.
Today I learned what a dust corner is.
You learn something new every day! Wow, great job and very interesting!
Never heard of those before! Very cool! Of course, looking at the pic, I think I’d have to do color or something. When I first looked at it, the clear acrylic with the engraving made me think it was spider webs in the corners! That would freak me out! But these are a fantastic idea. Thank you for taking the time to design them and submit them, along with the framing for it!
Love be this marriage of new/old!
Awesome idea!
Interesting! Those corners were hard to keep dust-free.
And for Halloween, they can be engraved as spiderwebs with spiders!
I mean in my house it’s 90% cat hair, but yes
The goal is to make it easy to sweep the dust down to the vacuum. I’m not as good at part II!
The effort it takes to nail them into the corners would make changing then out a no-go, but I am aware that some people are motivated enough to charge out their furniture seasonally, and this is definitely less effort than that!
I now wonder if it would be possible to make one with a slot in it there width of the nail so you could slide them on/off.
LOL. I can see it To me, especially in person, they look like crystals. They glint in the light.
But 100% one could do any design you want on them, and in any colour. I hope folks are inspired by the design.
Also, if you ever get a chance to go to the Winchester Mystery House in Santa Clara, CA, it’s worth it.
The only caveat being it is not handicapped accessible. The owner was 4’ and change and everything, including the staircases, was built to fit her frame!
That’s awesome! Love anything that makes house care easier.
