Here is a walkthrough showing how to set up Illustrator the way I think you should set it up, starting from scratch:
Added to Matrix.
Thank you Chris
Mine is a little older, but I figured it out.
This was extremely helpfulll for Illustrator rookies like me. Thank you very much for taking the time to make it.
That was very helpful–thanks for doing this!
Thanks @Chris1
THIS IS SO GREAT, THANKS, thank you
Resurrecting an old thread, lol.
I had been using Sketch (for Mac) and exporting SVG’s and having scaling issues, this sounds similar to other app issues so I had been painstakingly resizing by hand using rulers in my Glowforge, do these settings help with that, should I export as PDF instead of an SVG?
I appreciate any information if it can be provided.
Thanks!
You can try designing your files on a 20" x 12" artboard and it might eliminate scaling issues.
(It’s a workaround for the various input and output DPI issues that various programs introduce.)
Wouldn’t hurt to try
PDF, I believe, almost always puts things into actual… what’s the best way to say this? Units that aren’t open to interpretation?
Thanks all! I did find that the PDF route, alongside the 20"x12" artboard made things turn out very accurate.
