Warranty unit jewelry box

This spiral box took two sheets of plywood. Between printing the first and second sheet my GF went dead stick and lost all power.

After troubleshooting and talking with the staff I had to replace the entire unit. The replacement arrived at my local FedEx warehouse on Saturday a week ago, but they lost it in the shuffle. My wife and I spent multiple hours across multiple days at the warehouse trying to pick it up. It was finally delivered yesterday evening.

Soooo… back to the box that I was making. The box is ten layers of cedar plywood. Each layer is twisted 6 degrees relative to the layer below it. The rotation was controlled by registration pins and a keyed lid. The engraving on the lid is the US Navy submarine warfare qualification pin.

Elegant, classy design.

Nice! The cedar is pretty. Any plans to stain it?

Your box is beautiful.

No plans to stain it. My wife is going to use it as a jewelry box and she prefers the smell of the raw cedar.
