Wedding guest books

At a customers request to mimic an image he saw, I made two wood slab guest books (slabs supplied by customer, which was a challenge to line up). Then made some quick stands and pen holders for each one.

Awesome guest book! What kind of pen are you using?

It’s not my wedding, but I believe he’s using a ball point pen.

Great idea - is he going to have you do a trace/engrave of all the signatures when it’s all done?

Oh gotcha, I don’t know why I assumed you would be supplying the pen. I didn’t know if it took a special one to write well on the wood.

That’ll be one of those, “oh, crap” wedding moments lol

Bring Sharpies just in case

Thought about that, but not a risk I’m willing to do

He tested on a scrap cut off

Try it on the back. In fact you could redo the whole thing and the back would have the engrave version and the front the wet signatures. They could pick which side to display.

Turned out great … Definitely a change from the everyday guest book!

That’s really special. Definitely a keep sake to be displayed…not just stuck in a drawer somewhere like mine is…lol

hopefully not having a wood burning pen plugged in next to the “book” (yikes) Beautiful job though and a really neat idea - something to treasure !
