No doubt this sign has been done before, but I wanted to make it specially for a friend who had to abandon her house for 4 days during the fires in Oregon (east of Eugene). When she came back, her house was still standing and in good condition, but her garden was dead.
Plus, the power had been off for days, so all that garden goodness she’d already harvested and frozen was a loss. (There went my blueberry pies she was going to make me. )
You can do a simple score all and cut the outer shape, or score then engrave and cut, or… play with it. I set the words “weeds” and “thyme” as separate objects that can be moved off the screen while doing the other work; then move the rest off and place the two words in a cuttable area.
I used 1/8" BB ply with acrylic paint on the raised letters. Sealed with two coats of matte clear acrylic spray.
