Was wondering if anyone has ever tried engraving natural fiber door mats? Or carpet squares? Ive seen other brand lasers do so, so I thought I’d ask!

I would love to do this, but it would have to be a pretty small mat to fit in the GF.

I found some that are 18x30in which would work with the pass through, I’m just too nervous to try them lol
They would also have to be pretty thin as well as the passthrough is <3/16". I am thinking a small piecr inside the large piece that could be removed and replaced or perhaps a stencil.

Believe it’s a 3/8” slot designed for 1/4” materials.

Did anyone try it?
It would require a method not safe for the forum, rotated, raised with the crumb tray out and a judicious flip so you could do the left 18" in a couple of split jobs and then the right side flipped and the content vertically mirrored and two more split jobs.
You can get 18" from the front to the back. Of course you can’t close the front door and it’s too thick for the passthrough slot but doable nonetheless.
