I “invented” a “kaleidoscope” made of two different diameters of glass tube filled with different colors of glycerin and mineral oil and a spinning circle of fused colored glass at the end. The client had the name and fame so became the official Inventor and got the pieces in a big color coffee table book.
Unfortunately when shipped on jets in sub zero weather they tended to break, So she threatened to sue us for a bad design until we pointed out that she was the official designer and did not have to subject them to low pressure and freezing, and that could actually make them more valuable for it, but the relationship had broken and there were a few tricky moves that she would not have found others to do them for her.
