I would suggest saving it and getting your feet wet with the proofgrade. After you’ve burned through that you will have plenty of ideas for new projects, I would use the inventables cash than to buy something fancy that only they carry.
That $100 deal is this month only so I say take a risk and buy cool stuff on spec… then in January you can grab that $100 of stuff you have direct need for.

You do have to spend $100 in December to get the gift card in January. But, with the $50 gift card from GlowForge, you’re actually only spending $50 in December 2017 to get the $100 good for January-December 2018. $50 today for $200 worth of stuff isn’t a bad return on investment.
Of course, that presumes you have a use for what you are buying for $50 and don’t spend more than planned. But, even with the little over $100 I spent, I’ll end up with about $250 worth of stuff which isn’t bad.
