they make tritium nightlights like that and that was what I thought I was looking at until I watched. This is cool too.
I love the stuff they come up with at Adafruit.

Cool! What will they think of next. Tons you could do with that!

So if these are in earrings, is the coil in a necklace?

These would make for some cool board game pieces.

So cool. Any luck finding them for sale anywhere?

Those would be fun to play with. So cool installation art possibilities.

If I had to guess, I’d say in a few months they’ll be on sale for pennies on aliexpress.

The voice in the video I recognize as “Lady Ada” from Adafruit. :sunglasses:

This is her blog post…

Here’s another DIY project…

And this Hackaday project works with USB wireless phone chargers…

I could see these in a costume where a hat (or whatevs) is dark until you put it on your head and then suddenly bright lights appear all over it

or maybe it’s lights on the collar of your outfit or in a mask, and they light up when you put the hat on because that’s where the power source is.

And the hat or neck ring has the advantage of keeping your brain nice and warm! :sunglasses:

that’s cool, but that 4 LED “not lego” brick is $12+ with the LEDs in it (and not including power source).

it’s super cool, but still a bit crazy expensive. wonder if there’s a way to get the cost down with some economy of scale.
