Wood & Leather Earrings

I had fun making these and thought I’d share since I’ve gotten so much from the free designs section on here.

PG materials used:
medium basswood hardwood
medium walnut hardwood
medium natural leather

I also used some other leather scraps I had for color variety. You’ll need some fish hook earrings and jump rings if you want more dangle and movement. The arrangement and options are endless.

Love these. Thank you for sharing. Can you please suggest the setting for speed and power. The earrings I’m cutting are burning!

Love them! Thanks for sharing!

Are you using proofgrade material? I used the standard cut settings and didn’t have a problem. If not, try a proofgrade material setting for a similar type of wood. Example: I sometimes use 1/8" basswood plywood and I use the medium basswood plywood setting.

I am not using proof grade material. I have it set on the medium basswood plywood. I’ll keep trying, thanks for the reply

Thanks for this file. Your earrings are very nice, and the possibilities are endless.

The settings are tied to the materials, not the files. There are some files on here for helping dial in on the right settings (basically you cut and/or engrave a bunch of small circles/squares at a range of speeds/powers to find which one works best).

I’m new to this. How do I save this file? It’s not letting me save it.

Right click on the red design pictures and " save as".

Thank you. It worked with google.

love these, thank you!

Hi. I’m new to this as well. I tried doing this and every time I upload it, it tells me that bitmaps can only be engraved. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

When you click on the file, you must “save as” an svg. This isn’t so easy if you are using Microsoft Edge. Without knowing what browser you are using, may I suggest Chrome. Right click the file (red lines above) (not the picture of the project) and save as an svg.
