Texas is home, but after living in the Pacific NW for 23 years, it feels like home, too, even though they’re pretty drastically different.
I made this because it kind of represents the combined effect of both my homes on the person I’ve become.
There’s actually a third layer in the design, but I’m waiting to cut it because I might find something else I want to mount this on instead. I’m gonna go dig around in my dad’s barn and see what I can find!
Also, I’ve kept up with my 30 designs in 30 days commitment, @polarbrainfreeze, but with all the traveling around this past week I haven’t had time to cut most of them yet! I’m hoping to catch up today, but first, CHORES. (There’s a pile of garbage in need of burning, and it’s a perfect day for it!)
I have not cut many of mine either. I’ve been posting the designs without the finished products. I’ll update the posts once I actually make them.
Glad you’re keeping up!
I even heard that in my head with a Texas accent…
Doesn’t everyone around here say Namaste?
Naw, we say, How’s ya momma 'n them?
And of course, we’ll “git to it”.
That’s okay, I started out Cajun. (Makes for a unique butchery of the English language now for me.)
Ha, I did about half my growing up in Placquemine Parish, and now I live about 15 minutes from the LA state line.
Then you also understand.
Me too! Where you from? I grew up in the delta.
Grew up around Hattiesburg/Laurel area. Live on the coast, now.
Nice! I graduated from USM, I used to know it well. Changed a lot after I left though, so I hear (this was way before Katrina)
Yeah, it has grown westerly and died off to the east. Traffic is 10 times worse.
I’m sure! The casinos weren’t there when I left, came in shortly after. I’m sure that didn’t help either (but would have given us in college more options for trouble haha)
Well, you still have to drive either to the coast or up to Philadelphia to go to the casinos…there’s a few around Vicksburg and Natchez, but not much. Here on the coast, however, it’s all about the Casino’s…
I’ll never tire of layered text. It just adds so much.
