I don’t particularly like purple. Maybe they can laser my eyes to not see that instead.

Yes, very interesting experiment. Apparently they tune the (very low power) laser they use so that it only stimulates the green-sensitive cones in the eye, without activating the red- and blue-sensitive ones. With normal light, whenever the green-sensitive cone cells are stimulated, so are the red- and blue-sensitive ones because the three cell types overlap quite a bit in the range of colors they respond to.
