Not complaining or trying to obfuscate here but I never got any updated instructions and am still with a default of 2 passes. Will have to do some test cuts to see how this works for some press fit notches. I always felt that one pass should do the trick and sometimes I have set it that way especially if it is straight cuts. Glad to hear it from Dan.

So any older posts by me regarding acrylic need a caution.

What speed and power are the two passes at?

Nor I.

I’m fascinated by the manipulation they do with focus height for different operations on the same material (and how I think they’ve been changing). For instance cutting 1/4" maple has focus ranges that are almost never .250 or even within a “close” range like .245 or something. Engraving is the same thing - the focus seems to change based on the engrave darkness you pick which is also changing the LPI. I always switch to manual cut or engrave after picking a Proofgrade preset just to see what they’re doing and I’ve been amazed at the delta from what I would have expected.
