15 Tips on Pricing
There’s a lot of chat on here and the facebook group about pricing. I put together these tips to help give some pointers when working out price.
Charge what the customer will pay - not what you would pay - you always undervalue your own work.
Pricing based on time plus materials is usually the wrong way to price.
When calculating costs, include your fixed overheads as well as per item costs.
Don’t forget packing and shipping which can be expensive.

I’ve been making things for awhile now and I think that I’m finally getting the hang of things. What i keep running into though is the difficulty of how do I decide on what to charge? I’m all over the page so to speak. I can make a big project in fact I’m working on one. That takes up 20hrs of glowforge time ant 2 hours of prep. I have just the thing I thought… so I did some work, modified the image so it would be better for engraving… ended up actually vectorizing it in a couple of different ways and overlapping to create two different engrave actions that had different settings.
