A fun description

. Ha. Good post. Thanks for this video. Yes, I understand that Comic Sans and Papyrus are clichés. Almost as cliché as nerdy girls wearing dark framed glasses.

Quit picking on poor Comic Sans and Papyrus…they are friendly fonts that remind me of when people actually practiced penmanship. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Many of the offerings on Fonts.com are completely unreadable, and less than useless for paper design projects.

What you are describing is commonly known as snobbery. I love my Kreg jig, but it is not appropriate for use everywhere. I use a tube amp for my nice headphones but I don’t hate on anyone who likes the sound of their solid state setup, and I’ll use any damn font I find pleasing.

Yes. Snobbery. Pure and simple. It’s so funny that IKEA can get away with so many abysmal designs from a craftmanship viewpoint and no one calls them to task because they want low-cost, easy to assemble, throw away furniture.

Please shoot me if I ever appear to be a snob on this forum. Just now, I was snobby about IKEA. Sorry.

I’m generally anti-snobbery but I have to go with you on IKEA. Yard sale items are so much nicer.

Ha! Now I have it. IKEA is the Comic Sans of furniture.

Huh! Apparently font snobbery is a real thing…just spent 15 minutes looking at entire blogs dedicated to it.

I find your naivety refreshing. Name something and there is a snobbery and porn for it. :fearful:

I prefer the term font connoisseur :hugs:

Okay now I’m going to start a REAL war…I find myself in the unenviable position of probably having to replace my washing machine…and I’m sick of research…

Top Load or Front Load?

Front load! If I could afford one, that is what I’d get. The agitator in the top loader we have now wants to chew up my boxers all the time. LOL

Front load all the way if you have the $$$. Less water and easier on clothes. But there are some top loads that don’t have a central agitator that work very well for $500. You can’t beat the price point for the amount of laundry you can wash. Really, since most of the clothes we wash are not really dirty, top loads work very well. Get them from a true appliance dealer as the big box stores often have models that look good and have the features you want, but are not as sturdy and rugged as models in appliance stores.

Front loaders can harbor mildew…I love the old fashion top load with the old agitator…the appliance store clerk tried to sell me on one of those top loaders with no agitator…couldn’t see them really working…but I’m old fashioned I guess…lol

I generally get to pay cost (or less) for any appliances we wear out. (Connections.)

The high year-round humidity might be a problem for mildew on the front-loaders - I like the way they look, and I’ve seen a couple of reviews that say they clean better, but I was hoping that someone who actually had one could chime in. My mom has been less than pleased with hers for that reason. She has to leave the door open to keep it from stinking.:worried:

With three cats…could never have a front loader that had to be left open…lol.

Good point!

I had no idea until we got one. Front loader all the way. The only thing I don’t like is that I have to look for “HE” when sent for detergent.

Many likes for this. I feel better now. :relaxed:

Until now I wasn’t even aware that there was a ‘font bus’ or even ‘font police’, for that matter!

Her voice is far more annoying to me than any font!
