So I was asked by a couple of folks to post a few things that had not made it to the forums before. So this is going to be a little weird and random, but it might give you an idea of what walking through my very cluttered house is like. An average shelf looks like this:
Most of these are variations on my previous fairy boxes post. The yellow one is unfinished but kind of cool in that it flexes like a living hinge. This was a total accident on my part.
This Samurai was from a drawing Dave shared with me. It’s on thick acrylic, with leds built into the frame. There are small accents on the four corners. These were painted black, then gold and then the design was etched to remove the gold paint. It didn’t remove completely, but I liked the look.
This circular box is based on a layered design by @evansd2 and has a design on top which is the internals of a pocket watch (cat shown for scale, and because he would not get out of dang the way).
Let’s see, what else? Oh yeah, an organizer for my bathroom (courtesy of the box generator at: Gallery - Boxes.py ) and a set of small drawers that will go on my dresser when finished.
I also cut a logo for my CNC channel which will mount into the waste board of the Shapeoko 3 machine in my shop (which @evansd2 will attest is cluttered beyond all belief).
The CNC stuff is a whole nother rabbit hole and before that was the lathe and traditional woodworking. I have boxes full of boxes and a head full of weird ideas.
My version before the pandemic: go out to lunch, bring stuff, get free lunch…
Nowadays I’m resorting to shipping stuff to friends… pay for takeout.
Pre-pandemic, @evansd2 and I did show and tell every few weeks over chicken and waffles at a favorite restaurant. It was fun to leave things for the wait staff.
You can do like one of my neighbors with their over abundance of squash.
Just leave random gift bags on the porches in your area.
Not as evil as it sounds if you happen to like squash (raises hand).
Love them! Are they to use with LED candles. For some reason almost half of all I have made is to use with those LED candles I keep thinking I need to go someplace different but make a thing for an LED candle in the meantime,
That is a really nice solution! Mine is far more electrically inept and while I have been looking to ricepaper I have not made that jump yet though I have a bunch of frosted acrylic.
I also have hundreds of patterns in color, grayscale, and svg for both round and rectangular use but have not figured out how to put them on Etsy as such.
