I’m pretty certain I am already signed up for marketing from Glowforge and I don’t really want to type in my info on this ad. Is anyone else getting this before they can post in here? And is there a way to click never show again or something like that?

I’ve never seen it, but I run adblock which eliminates ads virtually everywhere, even YT videos…

A lot of (most?) people without ad blockers are getting this at least daily now. It is disappointingly spammy. My guess is that the vast majority of forum participants already have a Glowforge. So, it is hard to imagine they are getting much (or any) marketing traction from it.

I use the discourse app on my phone so no Adblock for me 
It didn’t bother me the first few times, it was anoying the next [insert large number that I don’t actually know and am sure feels like way more that it likely is] times
Now I’ve moved into ambivalence so

Every.Single.Time. Anytime I open up anything in GF it pops up. And sometimes even when I’m reading the next post. So very annoying. @dan make it stop!! Please!!

Something weird is happening because I have never seen it before this thread.
I do use ad blockers in both desktop chrome and mobile safari, so maybe that’s it? Or did I opt out of something that prevents it?
If I did opt out it would have been a while ago and don’t recall. I’m pretty averse to ads so I block anything I can, I turn off tracking and refuse cookies as much as possible. So yeah I’m not sure why I don’t see it but apparently there’s a way to stop it.

no idea. and it may depend on which ad blocker and what settings. i may sic the blocker on it directly next time instead of letting the default settings manage it. i just haven’t bothered yet.

Yeah the blocker I use has a way to right click and then say block this element. I’ve never had to do it with this ad but I’ve had to do it elsewhere. I used it to block portions of the main dashboard so that I don’t see the suggested designs as well. (I use stylebot for that)

Certainly the past week or two(?) the popup displays every. single. time.
Not sure why they are forcing this? I’m subscribed to the marketing list and pay for Premium — not a nice way to treat paying customers! Sigh…

My Adblock locks it here but it shows up frequently for the last 4-5 days on YouTube.
