Airships in the night

Okay so, I really need to get something up here because I keep telling myself I’ll do one of those great detailed write-ups and I never get around to it.

Anyway, back at the beginning of the year I started work on a model airship for my D&D 5e party I’m in, and halfway through April I finally got it to a useable point. I’m still planning to do a detailed write-up on everything about this ship, but here’s a picture in the mean time:

Thanks all for being an awesome community!

Edit: Here’s the process as best I can write it right now :stuck_out_tongue:

And 10 minutes later, it’s on fire.

Oh dang, that one has the proper 1-inch grid. I couldn’t figure out how to add a grid nicely while also adding the wood textures.

I added a link to the process in the original post

Haha I think it’d have to be canon if it got lit on fire, so hopefully we don’t lose our airship!

They’re really adorable crossbows

One of the hardest parts was getting from a rounded hull to a square inside

What I do is double up on lines that run the length, it is subtle but still obvious where the 1 inch line is.

For going across the planks I’ve either done the same thing with the cross lines, or used dots to represent nail heads or bolts. Again subtle but enough
