All too well and suede capes

Last weekend the new T-Swift album came out and it I think you can tell what I was listening to when sewing…and glowforging

Here is the “All too Well” cape:

There is “Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place”. I have the leaves falling and along the base is puzzle pieces. I then put a cute little town on the pieces. I added in some extra fun items like this dog being walked by a UAV…and being chased by a robot owner. There are tons of other things in this coat and I love the results.

So here is a new(ish) material. This is the Deep Forest scuba suede from Joanns and I did the same settings I normally do with 12 power and full speed.

This suede reminded me of a chalkboard and so put my favorite class on it…math  …I like math…a lot

So now onto a Luna moth cape

The back has a big center luna moth and then the phases of the moon along the sleeve.

The front had stars on it and intermixed are constellations.

Next one is another blue suede (which I love)

And then here is the results of the sunflower one

I also designed some arm warmers for them and those are also engraved with the GF (idk their formal name):

And this last one is not done yet but its a work in progress:

Hard to pick a favorite because they are all terrific. Given my home state, however, I’m going to have to go with the blue suede mountains. Thanks for sharing your inspirational and motivational projects.

The last is stunning … I also love the dark green and the blue. Gorgeous!

The thing that impresses me the most here is how prolific you are. That’s amazing all by itself.

Gorgeous beyond measure! You have more talent in your pinky finger than I Jane in my whole body.

NOt sure which I like best, the sunflower or the mountains. That blue seude is neat, too. Terrific work! You are a real inspiration to the forum here and it is clear you have a real GF expertise!

Always such amazing work. Love the sunflowers best.

Any advice on the best way to keep fabric flat and out of the way of the pulleys and such?

As always, an awesome job! They all look fantastic - and warm!

Lol, it helps to live in the middle of nowhere and never really go out. Makes it easy to just mass produce.

My next move will for sure be to colorado

It probably helps that I engrave the fabric when it is still just a cut segment and not sewn into the fuller design. But I user a magnetic whiteboard and ceramic magnets to hold things down. If I print on something that has a lot of fabric then I just swaddle the magnetic whiteboard just like a baby (I think? Idk, never actually swaddled a baby but I think its the same). But it helps well with getting yards of fabric to fit in the machine.

Gorgeous. I have to try to hunt down some of that suede! I think it would be cute for some little bags,

Swaddle is like mummify right?

Thanks for the tip about the magnetic board. Sounds like a good idea.

Loving your work as always, I’m with the blue suede crew but all pieces are gorgeous!

I have a question for you, do you ever second guess your plans as you’re in progress? If so how do you deal with this?

I think I get in my own way with this, when I have the courage of my convictions everything turns out well or I learn a lot - but I still don’t actually make quite a bit of the stuff I design.
