Where can I find suitable safety glasses for use with a Glowforge laser cutter to ensure proper eye protection during my projects?
Welcome to the forum.
It is perfectly safe to operate the Glowforge without safety glasses. If you really want some, however, they are available on Amazon. Here is one option: https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Glasses-190nm-490nm-Wavelength-Protection/dp/B088Q74CBD/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2Y6TM5BRWTT3&keywords=laser+goggles&qid=1660068165&sprefix=laser+googles%2Caps%2C82&sr=8-6
Unless you have a Pro and are using the pass-through. Only then are goggles recommended.
Remember when the pro came with a set?
Founders who bought a pro did. I am not sure how long after that.
This option is only good for Diode lasers. They are not to be counted on for safety with a CO2 laser. The CO2 laser operates at 10,400nm wavelength.
Sorry to spread misinformation. It is from another Glowforge post from a reliable source.
They’re probably good for the Aura but I don’t have one so don’t know what frequency they’re using. A quick look on the web page for it doesn’t spec that out. Someone here who owns one may know but based on what I’ve seen reported about what it can’t cut due to transparency/reflection issues, I’d say the ones you linked would be good as it’s likely a 405nm blue diode laser.
