Just barely in time for Halloween is this balancing dragon. In an effort to have the center of mass movable, the wings are mounted on a 3/8 inch ends-slotted dowel making the wing pitch adjustable. No counterweights were used on this version. The body is made in two halves with the left side cut apart exposing semicircular contours of the dowel hole. This allows assembly/gluing of the wings into the dowel notches without getting glue on rotating surfaces.

Link to Dropbox, hopefully …
That’s very neat!
Now that looks fun! My kids would love this.
Thanks for this.

Fun project!
Thank you for the share.
This is amazing! Do you have the pattern for sale at all?
I watched the movie and showed it to everyone in the house. We love it.
I will try and collect files and directions for a zip file. Computer skills are minimal …
Glad the video worked. It was a challenge to get the blue-tape to hold the camera to a chair.
Here is an attempt at a zip file with svg and instruction pdf. Free for use. If the zip works, best to understand all steps in assembly before gluing starts.
