Little did I know, they decided to use them for something very special:
“We keep them next to an (otherwise unused) cookie jar. And when we have a pleasant thought or reflection on the day, we jot it on a page, tear it out, and put it in the jar. At the end of the year, we’ll take out the slips of paper and review all the good things of the past year. So, we’re putting your gifts to good use. There’s a nice ritual to it all…”
When I saw the cookie jar - I just had to make an upgrade - see before and after!
For once @jamesdhatch is more right than @jules!
The cookie jar has been replaced by the box which also holds the notebooks on its sides. I haven’t given it to them yet, but their cookie jar will have to return to its cookie holding service, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing…
