Broken wheel?

Is the wheel suppose to have that missing piece ? I have notice a weird clunk/catching when the glowforge moves fast. I turned it off and moved the inside back and forth. When I get to the spot the catch happens I took a picture and found that small piece missing…is not supposed to be like that? Is this normal or broken ? If it’s broken can I fix it or is it something I have to have them fix or have I just lost a HUGE investment ? :sob::tired_face:

I don’t see them in the Glowforge shop, but Support should be able to help you.

Ok thank you. There’s nothing I can DIY to fix it?

As most people wouldn’t have the technical ability for the degree of disassembly required to replace that wheel, I don’t think it’s considered user serviceable.
If it were me, I might try and find the missing piece, and attempt to glue it back.

Definitely broken. To my knowledge, Glowforge does not offer replacements for that part, it has been available on Etsy by this seller, Gantry Wheel Replacement 24mm - Etsy but it looks like they’re on a break.

There’s someone selling used wheels scavenged from other Glowforges here:
