Can anyone help explain this?

I’ve noticed an unusual occurrence with speeds on my engrave.
I’m using the exact same settings except for the speed, when I increase the speed to 1200 (from 1000) the time of the print increases. Surely this is the inverse of what should occur?

Anyone know why this might be?

The printhead needs time and space to slow down, stop, change direction and accelerate again for every line of engraving. Think of a car that tries to go 70 mph between every stop sign placed a single block apart. The car must slow down sooner than the car going 60 mph and it takes the car longer to get to 70 mph after the stop than it does to get to 60 mph.

For your design, speeding up results in taking 14 more seconds to complete the job. Perhaps lowering the speed would result in a quicker print.

That makes sense I suppose, thank you. Obviously, the difference of 14 seconds between prints wasn’t a big deal, I was more curious about the oddity than anything else.
I’ll test a few slower settings and see if the they are even quicker than the 1000 speed.
