Craft Exchange

I made a Craft Exchange (kind of like a Little Free Library, but for craft projects) in front of my home!

Since I make so many things with my Glowforge (and beyond) I thought this would be a fun way to give things away to my neighbors, and maybe get some cook crafts in return! Not only are the contents made on my Glowforge, but I cut the lettering out of black acrylic

This is great. Wonder if there’s a good spot in my neighborhood to put one up? Hmm

I love this idea! Please give us updates on what people take and what they bring in return!

I love this, I’m just very unsure how this would play out in my neighborhood. Might be an interesting social experiment.

What a fun idea! I hope your neighbors reciprocate! Let us know how it goes!

I do something like this with my community of DM’s for D&D, we create some atrocious and share them around with each other’s groups . Recently I put a spin on Medusa and made… MEGOOSA!

What a cool idea! Not sure it would work in my neighborhood, but maybe if it were put at our local library, it might help generate not only business for the library if they have a GF for public use (I don’t know, I haven’t been to it, not even sure where it is!), but also people checking out books for craft ideas.

Is that a little chandelier hanging in there? I want one!

This is such a fun idea. I live in the country out of the way of traffic so it wouldn’t work for me but I love it!

Neat idea! Reminds me a little of the rock cart in my Hobbit landscape, although that was just for giving away, not for exchanging. On the other hand, I got rid of a lot of rocks.

MEGOOSA: I just have to ask, is it a goose with danger-noodle feathers? that would be a champion Guard Goose!

It’s actually a druid who was cursed by Giga goose and now instead of snakes for hair it’s consistently writhing squonking goose heads. I have a six-page lore document if you’d like it to be sent to you LOL

Fun idea! Kids would love this.

No thank you; I’m going to have to self-medicate myself after imagining writhing squonking goose heads.

btw, may I borrow that phrase?

Sure, just be sure not to break it :rofl:

This is brilliant! I need to do this, I generate way too many beta versions of items that would be great to pass along.

It is a chandelier! Made on my Glowforge of course  Someone adopted it pretty quickly!

How come you haven’t put the chandelier in the catalog? Please do so!

It required a bunch of beading work too, which I think disqualifies it from the catalog. But here’s the SVG if you want to try making it! I just used some sparkly clear beads to hang from the holes.

Note this is 2 chandeliers… the bottom 3 circles are for this one:

And the rest of the pieces are this one that you saw in the craft exchange:
