Crikey! = crumb tray on the Barbie!

nope - nothing here big enough to even attempt that, I did try soaking, and hosing down, and even the dishwasher with varied but poor results

We have too many lung issues here but @PrintToLaser’s ammonia trick might work where the gunk is mostly wood?

I am curious, do we actually need the crumb tray? I lost 3 of them but got a new one and then got rid of it. How much use are the really?

Technically no since we can build up support for materials to get them in focusing range. But for the typical GF user, it is probably true that they do almost all of their work on 1/8th or 1/4" materials. That makes it much easier to just use the tray.

Your use of the GF isn’t typical

Yeah.

That plus the ability to hold materials down and immobile using pins or magnets across a guaranteed flat surface at the correct height… the tray is far easier and more reliable than any sort of homebrew solution.

Add the wiggle boots and the tray is pretty much bulletproof.

You can make your own easily enough, here’s one that really sucks (vacuum tray) inspired by @evansd2. It’s halfway installed in the pic.
