So I don’t quite grasp what is going on – did you cut the main body from several pieces, glue, then form? It kind of looks like veneer under the gun grips, which is what is throwing me :sweat_smile:

A cool detail for grips is another free file, a Diamond Knurl pattern, depth map courtesy of @mpipes. it is tileable.

I cut the pieces from 1/8 solid wood then glued them together then shaped them.

That is not veneer it 1/8 solid walnut

I’ve been working on a similar knife handle (Diresta blade) for some time, as in been pondering how to go about it. I have the mixed pack of a variety of 1/16" hardwoods from Rockler.

I made this Halloween prop. Cut the handle out of .25" oak craft board and added diamond engraving for texture. Options for making other knife or pistol handles could be interesting, especially laminating different layers like you did.
