A slight crack in your black cable can cause that issue as well as several possible breaks in the information path along the way. The older machines have a black cable that can be damaged by opening the lid too far.
The black cable can be replaced, but it is tricky enough to damage the new replacement or not clicking the plugins properly. I have replaced one and it took careful re-installing two of the clips before solving the problem.

I changed the cable lid and sent pictures. The message still displays the lid open. I need to send the machine (3rd-year same problem and $1500 off)
