I’ve seen that happen a few times when the burn and speed were too powerful/too slow

It is a warning to make a decision about. I see it frequently look at it carefully and almost always say go ahead anyway. If you have a lot of those spots showing up in several very similar situations it might need rethinking, if there are six or so scattered about, you are probably safe but keep a sharper eye out* when making the cut.
*Do not keep an eye out as a pirate might
