Dead spot when cutting

Having an issue where the laser just appears to turn off at the end of a print. This is supposed to be a closed shape, but you can see where the cut on the left side just appears to fade out.

What would cause this?

I could be wrong, but it looks like your material either isn’t level or is warped in some way and when it cut the one side on the right, the material dropped down and put the focus off. I’m betting someone else will have an opinion about this, as well.

I agree with @Xabbess, notice how the cut line looks thick and well defined on the right side and much thinner on the left side then kind of fades out. Make sure there is nothing in the wells that position your crumb tray that might be causing it to be unlevel.

That’s a big chunk to miss. Did you ever print this in the past? Were there issues then? I’m guessing it’s a file problem, though i don’t know for sure without seeing the file. Maybe export the file from the glowforge interface that’s and open it up in your file creation software, then look at the file through outline view and see if it shows something different?

I’ve been having the same problem. It’s not a matter of leveling or warping - the line dips out in the same place in the pattern, with different materials, at different places in the cut bed; besides, the material being a few millimeters too high would just cause a wider/shallower cut, not completely negate it like this.
