Hi there! I wanted to share a stand up tree design that I made recently. I’ve been trolling the forum and impressed by everyone’s talent and willingness to help. I purchased my Pro in June and I have been having fun creating things. So, getting to the tree, I wanted to try to hand draw the artwork on my iPad and then send it to Inkscape and create a vector image of it, I have got to say that I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now, when I designed it, I made the inside connectors pretty much from the top to the bottom. The neat thing that I stumbled across was that by having those that way, the tree actually folds flat (for easy storage) while it’s still connected! I have made both larger and smaller trees just by enlarging and shrinking the image so it’s pretty user friendly. I have printed on both wood and acrylic. The only thing that I would recommend is to put something under it (cardboard?) when cutting acrylic as it seemed to burn/scorch in couple spots from grate even using PG acrylic material. I have made both a PDF and Zip file for ease ENJOY!
Yes, But I do troll well, But this tree is gorgeous, I have it cut and painted and cannot wait until I can add some decorations to it. It will be our new Christmas tree as our 3 XL breed rescue dogs will not be able to reach it to destroy it!! Thank you again!!
@Suemmcq - that is awesome! Yes, there are so many neat things on here, I’m so glad that you can use my tree! Please post a picture when you’re done because I’d love to see it painted & decorated! And the fact that you rescue is amazing! I have had 2 Rhodesians (one currently and one passed away) and I tell you they’re so sweet:)) Thank you for helping out pets! Merry Christmas:)
Will do, I started decorating it today till I had so much glue on my fingers I couldnt feel the "ornaments. We have a Newfie, Pyr. and Boarder collie/Pyr mix. house is not huge but we have an acre fenced . Merry Christmas to you too!!
OK…I seem to be the only oddball on here about the size of this tree. Since it’s already an SVG, I did what I always do…opened it in Affinity, copy and pasted it into a new 12x20 art board. The thing is huge! Anyone have a clue for me? Going to try the PDF and see what happens with that.
