Btw, the location of the material selection window in @cynd11 screenshot (right of the title) indicates that the new UI isn’t completely loaded. I had the same issue and solved it by clearing cookies snd cache from ghe browser, closing it, and restarting. The selection window moved to the left of the design name/title (see my screenshot above) and the preview mode started working correctly for both my Spark and Performance units. If you’re not seeing that, you may want to contact support.
That’s a support issue – the minus zoom button circled shouldn’t cover/hide/displace the preview button!
Yeah I don’t have it either.
Same, just the “-” for the zoom in that position for me as well.
I presume it doesn’t matter that my machine is off at the moment.
Great announcement! I love the ui update and the made in the USA move. Chee hooo!
Does that button only show if you have the GF on? Because mine doesn’t have that at the moment, maybe because my machine is offline.
edit: I see I’m not the only one who doesn’t have it. ![]()
That’s at least three of us with no preview. Maybe time for @rebekah (or someone) to take a look?
Is an HD-model only thing? I’ve got an older pro.
Preview Mode is available on all of our newest machines: Aura, Spark, Pro HD and Plus HD. Full feature comparison between machines is here: https://glowforge.com/b/tech-specs
So it seems.
Odd thing to be tied to the local hardware, I would have assumed this was server-side.
I hadn’t realized it was only showing on my Aura, not the Pro. Oh well!
clearly just to be annoying. ![]()
In the hopper!
ABSOLUTELY!
That… is not going in the hopper
Can you explain why it’s not for the older models? I’m curious whether or not future features will be unavailable to the older machines, it might give me or others incentive to upgrade if we had some insight as to why the hd models are more capable.

And… that pic is a little disturbing! lol
(I like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but parts of it, like the oompa loompas, always did creep me out LOL)
The latest update page does not reflect the new UI updates.
It probably should?
Which I don’t understand. I have a Basic so to not have it for every machine is like we’re being punished for having an older machine (which mine is still working perfectly) and not buying a newer one. And then it was taken away. I do have a Spark, so I guess I could just use the Spark to see what it looks like, but cut it on my Basic.
And it does work if I click on my Spark. Yay!
